DRIP KHULI RELEASES EP AFTER WORKING ON SINGLES FOR A WHILE
By Pempho Singo

Drip Khuli, born Hope Banda, is a 24-year-old musician from Bangwe Township in Blantyre. The artist performs Afrobeats and Amapiano. He began making music in 2022 after seeing and admiring his older brothers F Cody, Reedom, and C1 Eddie do so in their home studio.
The EP was conceived following the release of songs such as Udzandifuna and Pandekha Ndimalira. The EP discusses current events and has emphasized the importance of education. The EP also discusses why good morals are important to us as humans.
When asked what he would do if he accidentally became famous, the artist said, “I intend to start a record label so that other artists can benefit from it.”
Drip Khuli, like any other profession or career, has faced challenges in the process of making music. He suffered the most while raising funds for his music, from composition to release.
Another issue was that established artists were not giving him a chance as an emerging artist to be recognized for his work in order for them to collaborate.
When asked what song he would perform at the presidential palace if invited, Drip Khuli mentioned Pandekha Ndimalira because it addresses the issues that arise when a person does not pursue further education. The song encourages youth to work hard in school and become self-sufficient in the future.
Drip Khuli was also asked what he thinks of suicide when he hears about its rising rate, particularly among young people, and his response was: “What comes to mind is pity and sorrow after hearing that many young people are taking their own lives; my advice to those who are still going through difficult times is that they should understand that problems do not go away all at once, so suicide is not the right solution. If you have problems, talk to someone, and they will undoubtedly assist you.”
The artist also stated that it is not acceptable for artists to drop out of school to pursue music because music should be treated as a side hustle while studying.
