Hey World! Meet Flexie, the rising producer and singer.

By Pempho Singo

He started as a musician in 2017, and he would be recording himself with two friends, Tex Official and SKTA Goon. When he saw what the music producers did when making instrumentals, he thought, “Now this is what they call talent!” and he thought of learning music production.

He started working as a music producer sometime later by teaching himself how to use FL Studio software. He landed jobs at more than five studios after gaining some experience in music production.

Flexie believes he has not yet achieved his dreams or reached where he wants to be as an artist and producer. The artist believes so because he still gets criticized and lacks support from the sponsors and promoters, as they only help established artists and not up-and-coming ones.

When we asked who he admires both as an artist and a producer, he mentioned Eli Njuchi and DJ Sley. Despite that, he made a name for himself in the artists and other producers’ circles. Flexie did not drop out of school and is still in secondary school.

Flexie used to make trap music but has now resorted to making Afrobeats and Afro-pop. His real name is Tafadzwa Msini, and he lives in Mulanje. He is 20 years old, making him one of the youngest producers in the land.
